Freedom is Not a National Emergency! | 2022

Updated: Feb 17, 2022

Christianity has been about freedom since Jesus walked the earth and taught the people about it. Our freedoms from oppression were purchased by the blood of Christ at the cross. He defeated Satan and evil principalities when He rose from the grave. The power of Jesus is therefore ultimate power and kingship over heaven and earth. For the past 1900+ years Christians have not only spread the gospel of Jesus but worked tirelessly for the cause of freedom worldwide.

This blog is not meant to be a political blog. But considering current events and the condition of nations worldwide, I believe that it’s a good thing to support causes against tyranny wherever it exists. The Church body led by the Holy Spirit is God's restrainer of evil on earth until Jesus returns to govern the world righteously and fairly.

Be encouraged that movements are underway for the people to speak up against oppression and to be heard around the world. No longer will people ignore corrupt and oppressive governments to persecute and oppress us with their authority and misuse of power. We do have the rights under God and Constitution to live in peace, love, and harmony with our neighbors. This freedom is not a national emergency! The Bible says repeatedly that this activity pleases God. So, be encouraged to support those who call for accountability and stand against unjust leadership. Remember too, that God sets our leaders up and God takes our leaders down. God says we must bend to the authority that he has placed over us. But we can discern the times of oppressive governance. We can pray. We can protest peacefully. We can vote them out of office in a democracy; and with the power of the Holy Spirit within us we may pursue the cause of freedom for all mankind.

Time is short to get the gospel message of Christ to the world. That is the most important message to be told. Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to travel, and freedom to share ideas and opinions, are highly important when serving God. For example, when regimes take over and control economies and supplies there may be shortages of paper to print Bibles, tracts, and lessons. The freedom to assemble allows the sharing of the Gospel of Christ. It allows believers to meet, praise, and worship our Heavenly Father. It allows church and school buildings to house worshippers and students. So again, I encourage and support those in their efforts to protect and preserve our rights under God to live freely and in peace. God bless you for the sacrifices you are making, for the persecution that you are enduring from those in authority, and for the dedication, peaceful assemblies, and unity of purpose so that the peoples' voices can be heard.

It seems like every generation must fight to preserve the same freedoms as the generations before us. This battle will continue until Jesus returns, takes over his kingdom, and governs man according to true justice. Our nation was founded upon God‘s laws extending rights, privileges and freedoms to all citizens of our nation. It seems that those who oppose fairness, order, and justice will never agree to rule peacefully and for the people. It’s up to the people to love and trust their God; and to stand up for the freedom that Christ died for. He set us free from sin and death at the cross, and when Christ sets you free - you are free indeed!

Having lived most of my life in the "last frontier", I have been privileged to live a very free lifestyle

in the far north. Therefore, I have experienced little to none of the crime or injustices that most of the people of the world endure on a daily basis. For this I am ever grateful, and my heart is sad for the injustice that reigns the world. Believers, fight the good fight and stay on the side of right for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Remember that those who would be first in heaven will be last according to Jesus. It seems to me that most people are satisfied with an average life and spend their time loving their families, working their jobs, and abiding by the laws of the countries where they live. They do not wish to fight continually with authority but do so out of responsibility to the next generations in order to preserve the freedoms that have been won at tremendous cost. Those who stand up and hold the line for the rest of us have my utmost support and admiration. They are the true leaders of a movement that never dies; it’s like the ocean tide. It recedes in time of peace and justice for all, and advances in times of authoritative duress.

Make no mistake, when churches are burned, God sees.
When the people are denied food, heat and shelter, God sees.
When people are overtaxed, oppressed, denied their rights to live freely and peacefully, God sees.

Even the meek have strength in numbers. Unite and be strong. Do not fear, for those who be with us are far more than those against us. For we do not battle things that are seen but the principalities and rulers of this world who are not seen.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. ~ Romans 8:18

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long. We are counted as sheep for the slaughter. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. ~ Romans 8:35-37 to all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of morning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory. ~ Isaiah 61:1-2

If we continually seek freedom and peaceful living with our neighbors, the Lord will plant us like great Oaks, and He will be glorified. Praise the Lord!

+and what is the good news in Isaiah 61? The good news is comfort for the brokenhearted and the prisoners that will be freed. It was all done at the cross. Jesus gave his life and shed his blood freely so that we can live peacefully and to live in truth. Do we not know that the truth will set us free? Everything about God‘s plan is about living freely and abundantly. We are freed from sin as we accept Christ's free gift of forgiveness by our own free choice. Everything about God‘s message to us is a love letter of freedom - AND NOTHING BUT FREEDOM!

So, because I love my Lord, and love my neighbors, I cannot be silent during these times of distress upon the nations. My heart yearns for the wrongs to be righted. And for world leaders and national leaders to see that the people are guided by the righteousness of the Lord when they seek freedom. God put it in our hearts when he created us. Yes, freedom is in our nature. Cherish it, strive for it, fight to keep it in a peaceful way. God gave us a voice to use, not clubs or weapons. Thank you for visiting this blog and for reading this post. God bless you this week and may you remember not to follow the crowd unless it agrees with your own convictions and lines up with God's Word.

we then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let everyone of us please his neighbor for his good to edification for even Christ did not please himself; but, as it is written, the reproaches of them that reproached You fell on Me. ~Romans 15:1-3
now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus ~ Romans 15:5
I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise onto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. ~ Romans 16:17-20

Love and God's blessings be upon you,

Sherron
